Logo Critiques

The first logo I chose was Twitter. I am a Twitter fanatic and love this logo. I think what I like the most about this logo is the bird theme they keep that associates with the actual name Twitter or what you actually do which is 'Tweet', which is a sound you think of when you think of birds. I think this logo is aimed at social media users because many of the social media sites logos are some sort of blue color.

Firefox is another literal translation of logos. The literal fox on fire is what catches my attention and I think thats what makes it so brilliant. I also like that the 'fox' is enveloping the commonly used symbol for the internet. It is a very effective way to brand something so common. Also they are using complementary colors blue and orange.

Pepsi is the next logo which as evolved over the years. And now has become an internationally known symbol. But what I think is the most brilliant about there newest logo is that it takes America's primary colors and uses them for a soft drink logo. When Americans see these colors it is automatically going to strike a chord in them and I credit Pepsi for using colors as a primary advertising technique.

Nike is a logo that I actually do not like but respect. It is probably the most simplistic design that is so widely spread an recognized. The colors usually vary but the idea that the logo is literally just a check is amazing to me. I think it is mostly associated and aimed at men but I think the color variation can aim at different demographics.

Google is brilliant in everything they do so it makes sense that their logo is as well. First off it uses all primary colors which is just brilliant because many people know most of those colors. Also color is the main use in this logo because many times they change the logo for a certain holiday but no matter what it looks like people will associate those colors with the google logo.
